I’ve sometimes found it difficult to convey what travel means to me, especially when talking to people whose only image of travel involves a resort vacation spent entirely by the pool. For some people it’s deeply personal, and for others it’s just for the sense of adventure. Whatever travel might mean to you, chances are it means a whole lot.
And on that note, here are some of the best travel quotes around, to spark the wanderlust of even the most jaded of travel extraordinaire. Enjoy!

Well, that’s all for now! Got any favorite travel quotes? Feel free to chime in.
Eytan is a pretentious English major whose rant-laden sarcastic tirades occasionally include budget travel tips and other international nonsense. You can follow his every narcissistic word on Facebook or Twitter.
Great selection of travel quotes. I often see them all on Pinterest and Facebook and I got bored with some of them LOL like the one “I haven’t been everywhere. But it’s on my list” :0. Yours is pretty original (the last one) EPIC!
Inspirational for sure – the Dalai Lama offers my favorite, “Go at least once a year to a place you’ve never been before.” If you can afford to go abroad, great. If not – just head down the street in a different direction, take a turn you usually pass, discover your “backyard.” Either way you’ll broaden your horizon.
Great list of quotes and photos! My favorite is “A journey is best measured in friends, not miles.” In my travels have been so lucky to meet so many genuinely and interesting people and made many good friends along the way!
Great article! I love the pictures you included with the quotes. I’d like to add one of my favourites: “You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own and you know what you know. Only YOU can decide where to go.”
Dr. Seuss.
One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Miller, “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” From your collection, I got to know another favorite, “To travel is to take a journey into yourself.” by Danny Kaye.
Number 11 is legit and the photos are incredible. I just wrote a post on my 21 favorite, but after coming across your list, I might need to borrow a few and expand that list. Awesome post- thanks for the inspiration!
Awesome quotes and design. The one by Mark Twain has always been my favorite.
Mark Twain had several quotes I wanted to use. He’s one of the best quote makers ever.

Maybe someday it’ll be on my tombstone.

Thanks. That’s a favorite of mine as well. Except they’re all so far away.
Great list of some of my favorite travel inspiring quotes! Travel really does broaden your horizons and open your eyes.
