Advertising & PR

Thanks for taking an interest in this site. Though advertising and PR partnerships aren’t a major focus here, I’m still happy to hear about potential collaborations on projects, particularly those that might be of interest to readers.

Site Content and Style

This particular author enjoys all sorts of cultural experiences, from off-the-beaten-track destinations to world-famous monuments, but with a focus on budget travel and local activities, which means I’ll be at the $2-per-meal noodle cart far more often than the Irish pub or a McDonald’s.

I like to keep things light (both in writing style and pack size), with as much sarcasm as my fans can handle. Travel is fun, but also quirky, silly, accident-prone, and unpredictable. I like keeping a lighthearted attitude and offering tongue-in-cheek observations at every opportunity, and find myself more often amused than anything else.

Just a primer on how I handle things, but feel free to peruse the site at your leisure for more of an idea of what this is all about.

Advertising Options

This site is open to a variety of advertising partnerships and freelance opportunities, with current options including:

  • Product reviews: As you may have noticed from the site, ultralight travel gear is something of an obsession of mine. If you have a product that allows me to travel more efficiently, I want to see it. I’m happy to publish honest reviews on this site. I’m especially interested in high-performance, low-maintenance travel clothing that still looks like normal clothing, as well as space-efficient, multi-purpose gear that’ll help keep things lightweight and organized. But even if it’s something I wouldn’t necessarily use myself, I’ll give an honest review of other sorts of items as well, with recommendations for other types of travelers who might enjoy them, even if it’s not specifically targeted at ultralight backpackers.
  • Press trips: Want exposure for a fun place, or a local business offering travel services? I’m always interested in unique experiences, particularly in out-of-the-way places, and love sharing those experiences with readers. Send me what you have in mind.
  • Freelance offers: As you can probably tell, I enjoy exploring different cultures, and writing about all things travel, and plenty more. Chances are you’ve already sampled the writing, so if you think we’d be a good fit for some writing partnerships, I’m happy to hear what you’ve got planned.
